If you are local to Kent and enjoy watching live theatre, comedy, music, cabaret and more, make sure you keep next weekend free as Folkestone Live is back for 2025! In its second year, the seaside town’s very own arts festival is returning from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st September, with 3 days of performances at the Grand Burstin Hotel, The Old Cigar & Olive Music Bar and on the harbour. 29 shows are scheduled throughout the weekend and the festival is providing local audiences with a chance to watch a variety of shows on their doorstep from as little as £8.00 (excluding a booking fee).
Shows to look out for
Following an Edinburgh Fringe run, Slade Wolfe Enterprises are presenting ‘1 King, 2 Princes & Shakespeare’s lie’, ‘After Shakespeare’ and ‘Baker Street Ladies’ over the weekend. I watched the latter in Scotland and was thoroughly impressed by the creativity of the writing and Lexi Wolfe’s convincing performances as Mrs Hudson, Mary Watson and Irene Adler.
Magician and actor Campbell Glazier is presenting ‘Becoming Magic’. The show combines comedy, magic and improv and is ‘Campbell’s most personal and daring performance yet’.

Nick Beat, Campbell Glazier and Chloe Huggins are joining forces in the original panto ‘The Legend Of The Ghost Gag Bench’. Described as a ‘family-friendly rollercoaster of ridiculousness’, this show sounds like lots of fun for the Saturday afternoon.
Faversham Fringe Festival Director Ribs Norman is also performing ‘Mumorial’ on the Saturday: a deeply personal comedy and storytelling piece that highlights Ribs’ experience grieving her mother.
Booking tickets for Folkestone Live
It is brilliant that the festival is returning for 2025. I’ve included the full schedule for anyone looking to make the most of this varied event and tickets are available for purchase via the Folkestone Live website.
