Actor, author and comedian Joe Tracini headed to the Edinburgh Fringe last year with a solo show that was 5 years in the making: ‘Ten Things I Hate About Me’. It centres on the performer’s experiences living with Borderline Personality Disorder and utilises symptoms of the disorder as a framework for sharing the realities of daily life. With themes of mental health, addiction, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, the show blends humour with raw emotion and was actually nominated for the Mental Health Foundation Fringe Award 2025.

For Spring/Summer 2026, ‘Ten Things I Hate About Me’ is touring the UK and Kent audiences have the opportunity to see the show at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone for one night only this June. The tour is produced by Norwich Theatre and will visit Salford, Cardiff, Birmingham, Maidstone, Brighton, Leeds and Exeter, with further dates and venues to be announced.
Stephen Crocker, Chief Executive & Creative Director at Norwich Theatre, said: “We’ve been proud to stand beside Joe and support his unique voice and storytelling style for many years. Seeing the impact his work has had on so many people has been remarkable, and we’re absolutely delighted to be producing his first UK tour. This show is brave and brilliant in equal measure, funny, frank, and profoundly human, and we can’t wait for audiences across the country to experience it.”

Norwich Theatre even supported the production of the 2024 Channel 4 documentary ‘Me and the Voice in My Head’, which covers both the performer’s mental health journey and the show’s evolution. Offering audiences a deeply personal look behind the scenes of what it means to be Joe Tracini, this documentary also provides insights into the performer’s creative process.
Tickets for ‘Joe Tracini: Ten Things I Hate About Me’ at the Hazlitt Theatre in Maidstone on Friday 12th June can be purchased via the venue’s website. It certainly sounds like a reflective comedy piece, with some timely messaging.
