We’re onto the final instalment of Mouse Chick in Prague! Days 4 and 5.
Tuesday
Tuesday morning was our slightly later start, not heading off into the tourist areas until 11. We woke up and explored the local area near our hostel, seeing the TV tower and finding a really vibrant inner-city park.
At midday, I went with a couple of the girls to Prague’s Palladium shopping centre. We had a wonderful afternoon rummaging in the sales, before heading onto the souvenir shops in Old Town Square. It was so nice to just browse for a bit and buy a few presents! I bought my boyfriend a tankard, some art and a shot glass, to say thank you for such an amazing trip.
For dinner, we went to this Italian restaurant that had outside seating in the square. The pizza’s were delicious and the atmosphere was amazing.
After eating lots of delicious pizza, we headed back to the hostel, taking a detour up the hill we’d visited the previous evening. We watched the sunset at the top and the views were absolutely breathtaking!
The sunset was a perfect ending to another fantastic day in Prague. We soon retired to the hostel, so that we’d be well rested for our final day.
Wednesday
Wednesday was our last day in Prague and my opportunity to do a bit of solo exploration. Whichever city I visit, I like to go off on my own in the early morning and see the city for what it’s like without all the tourist crowds. On Wednesday morning, I wandered through a very quiet Old Town Square, before visiting PAUL Patisserie in Wenceslas Square for breakfast. The bakery was so pretty, filled with multi-coloured macaroons and pretty cakes!
I ordered a yoghurt granola parfait, mini pain au raisin pastry and tea to takeaway, so that I could eat outside in the centre of Wenceslas Square. I sat on the PAUL outside bench, taking lots of artsy photos of the bakery as I ate.
The boys met me at 10 for a day of Prague’s street art, parks and manmade island in the river. It was such a relaxing day, wandering along the riverside and seeing bits of the city that we’d missed on the previous days. I was so pleased to find some padlocks to photograph; one of my favourite things to capture when I’m travelling!
It started to rain in the afternoon, but as the sky was so dark and grey, you were able to get really dramatic photos!
In the evening, we ate in Old Town Square again, but this time we had local Czech food. It was a wonderful end to the trip.
We flew back to Gatwick on Thursday morning, so I’m going to end the Prague posts here.
