5 quick travel photography tips!

Having a Dad and sister who both love photography has it’s perks. They’ve instilled a few photography philosophies into me for years and it’s meant when I go travelling, I know what to do to capture the shots I want. Most of the time when you’re travelling, you won’t have the time to sit about and get the perfect photo, so it’s important you know your camera well and the settings that will always get you an okay photo. In today’s post, I’m going to be sharing some quick travel photography tips.

1. If you’re short for time, use the ‘program’ or ‘auto’ setting. The picture won’t be ‘manual’ quality, but at least your photo is likely to be sharp.

2. Get out early in the morning to capture cityscapes. The quality of light is so much better then and you won’t have to compete with crowds either.

3. Always have 1-2 spare camera batteries with you. The last thing you want is your camera to run out of battery, when you’re exploring.

4. Take your photos in both RAW and JPEG formats. RAW files take up more space on your memory card, but they’re more forgiving when it comes to photoshopping your images afterwards.

5. Don’t be a typical tourist and photograph everything! Save your camera memory for unique, never seen before shots. Look for gateways, pretty gaps in bridges, interesting-shaped pillars. These are all great for giving you a unique frame for your picture!

I hope you’ve found this post helpful!
