5 reasons why I love being at home at Christmas time

I arrived back in Hertfordshire today for the Christmas holidays and it’s so nice to be in my warm and cosy home, with my family and all of the Christmas decorations. At Christmas time, there really is ‘no place like home’ and I feel like the Christmas season has really begun, now that I’m home. I’m going to be talking about why I love being home at Christmas time on my blog today.

1. The Christmas tree.

My Mum decorates our tree so beautifully every year. It’s purple, bronze and gold-themed and when the fairy lights are switched on, it makes the living room look so magical.

2. Spending time with my family.

At Christmas time, we have lots of family days. We’ll sit at the dining table with good food and chat for hours. We often host, which means my house is at the centre of the festivities at Christmas.

3. Having a TV.

This sounds like an odd one, but at University we don’t have a TV. It’s so nice being able to watch Christmas movies and TV programs on the sofa in our lounge.

4. The house is warm and cosy.

Student accommodation is notoriously cold. I always feel so much more comfortable in my own home!

5. My family are just as excited about Christmas as I am.

It’s always great being around people who really like Christmas, in the lead up to the 25th!
Do you spend the Christmas period at home with family?
Thanks for reading my blog today.

  1. Food & Baker says:

This is super cute, being around family is such an important part! This year I, Jessica will be spending Christmas with James and his family, so it'll be a lovely change and we both will be together for the first time, so exciting!

  2. I agree with all, but I never realised how much I missed watching TV with my family. I love all the Christmas specials. This evening I've been watching Mary Berry cooking up a Christmas storm with my Mum.
