I saw La La Land earlier this evening and even though I’ve only been back home an hour, I’ve been desperate to get online and blog about the movie. It’s one of the best films I’ve ever seen. It’s full of Hollywood glitz and glamour and it’s just like the classic musicals of the fifties, except with a modern twist. Today’s post should hopefully convince you to go out and see it.
1. The dancing.
If you’re a Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing with the Stars fan, you’ll really appreciate how wonderful the dancing is. Who knew Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling could dance that well? Their dancing has a serious Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers vibe.
2. The music.
The original soundtrack is incredible. ‘City of Stars’ recently won a Golden Globe, but it’s not the only song that you should look out for, there are lots of fantastic ones. ‘Someone in the Crowd’ is my favourite and it’s so unbelievably catchy!
3. The cinematography.
The film is a work of art. Every shot has been captured so beautifully. The movie cinematographer deserves an Oscar!
4. The story.
It’s a classic Hollywood boy-meets-girl story, but it’s got a golden age of Hollywood twist.
5. The dresses.
Emma Stone wears such beautiful dresses in the movie; you’re bound to get clothes envy haha!
