5 tips for visiting Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is one of those spectacular sights that I believe everybody should see at some point in their lifetime. It’s located on one of the borders of the USA and Canada, so it’s not the easiest place to get to, but if you’re visiting either New York state or Toronto, Canada you should definitely drop by and see the waterfalls in their full glory. In today’s post I’m going to share some tips that will help you make the most of your Niagara Falls visit.

1. Stay near the Falls for at least 2 nights.

Weather can be variable around the Falls and you don’t want to visit during bad weather, so if you have a back up day, it’s always helpful.

2. Visit in the morning or evening.

The Falls is much more impressive at these times because the sun is low in the sky. Golden hour would be the perfect time to visit!

3. View the Falls from the Canadian side.

Although the Canadian side of Niagara Falls is much busier, you can see both the US and Canadian sections of the falls from there. If you cross into Canada, you definitely get the ultimate Niagara Falls experience.

4. If you need to cross over the border from the USA to Canada, get to Peace Bridge early in the morning.

Between 6 and 7am there is very little queue at the border, making your journey over to Niagara Falls easy and stress-free.

5. Have breakfast at the Falls.

Tim Hortons (a famous Canadian bakery chain) is walking distance from the Falls and you can stop there for breakfast with a view of the American side of Niagara Falls.
