20 things about Mouse Chick ♡

Today it’s my 20th birthday and if you hadn’t seen on Twitter, it’s bonus post day! To celebrate my birthday, I decided to publish an extra post this week and tell you a bit more about the girl behind ‘Mouse Chick’. Now I couldn’t just write any old ramble-themed post, I wanted to keep in with the ’20’ theme, so here’s 20 things about Mouse Chick.

1. My parents didn’t name me Kat.

My name’s actually Katherine, but I prefer shortening it to Kat. Kat Last is a much more memorable name than Katherine Last.

2. My University & Degree

I’m a second year student at the University of Kent, studying Multimedia Technology and Design which is a Computing, Website Design and Graphics degree. My blog is actually bespoke and I created it myself using code I learnt at University.

3. I’m not a confident person in real life.

In real life, I’m actually quite shy and introverted, but through my blog I have found that my confidence has started to grow.

4. I’m a Disney girl at heart.

Most people grow out of their Disney obsession, but that never happened for me. I love the movies so much and Disney Parks are some of the coolest places to visit in my book.

5. Dreaming of voicing a Disney Princess

I love to sing and if I ever got the opportunity to voice a Disney Princess, I’d jump at the chance. We’re all allowed to dream right?

6. Fifties fashion is my favourite.

I absolutely love fifties swing dresses. I only have one at the moment, but I can’t wait to add more to my collection.

7. Audrey Hepburn is my style inspiration.

If you were part of last Saturday’s #fblchat, you’d know how much Audrey Hepburn’s style inspires me. Recently I created a Breakfast at Tiffany’s look and I have some more Audrey fashion posts coming soon.

8. I’m not a forward-thinking Fashion blogger

I love creating vintage and retro-themed looks. You’ll find me blogging about 50s or 60s-themed outfits much more than what’s supposedly ‘in’ today.

9. I’m also on YouTube.

Click here to head over to my Disney, Travel and Lifestyle channel. It’s currently undergoing a revamp, but new content coming soon!

10. I love being busy.

I always have a full diary and I’m too much of a yes person, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love having a busy schedule!

11. Walt Disney World is my favourite place on earth.

I last went in 2014, but Walt Disney World remains my favourite place to visit. I just have so many childhood memories spent at Walt Disney World with my family.

12. I’m much happier having movie nights in with friends, than going out partying.

I’m a small town girl, so when I first went to University, the city party scene was a bit of a culture shock. First year was a lot of fun, getting to go out partying, but I much prefer staying in watching films and chilling out with my friends. Crowds make me very anxious, so I try to avoid bars or clubs as much as possible!

13. A lot of my real-life friends are bloggers.

We have a blogging society at my University, so a lot of the people I socialise with are bloggers. It’s so nice having people to talk to about blogging!

14. My favourite Disney movie at the moment is Hercules.

How can you not love the sassiness of this movie? The muses are so incredibly cool and doesn’t every girl just want to be Meg, she’s such a brilliant character.

15. The Princess and the Frog inspired me to visit New Orleans.

Since watching The Princess and the Frog, I’ve had an ever so slightly big obsession with New Orleans. The jazz, the food, Mardi Gras… the movie makes everybody want to visit. I actually got to go last September with TrekAmerica and I had such an incredible time. The French Quarter is such an amazing place to visit; there’s music everywhere and the buildings are gorgeous.

16. Cupcakes are my favourite food ever.

Okay this is largely because of their prettiness, but who doesn’t love cupcakes? If we ever go out for tea and cake, there’s no question over which type of cake I’m going to choose.

17. Twitter is my favourite social media.

I’ve met so many amazing bloggers on there and I can’t wait to meet the Disney bloggers at next week’s meet-up.

18. I love the outdoors.

There’s something about fresh air that just makes me de-stress and relax. If I’m ever snowed under with deadlines, a walk with my headphones in is just what I need.

19. I love to travel.

I’m heading to Prague next weekend which I can’t wait for. I’ve also got inter-railing planned for September.

20. It’s my dream to visit Disneyland California.

Hopefully at some point in my life I’ll get to visit the original Disneyland in California. The castle looks beautiful and I’d love to be able to say I visited Walt’s original Disney Park.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post and finding out a bit more about the girl behind Mouse Chick.
Thank you for reading my blog today.
Love Mouse Chick
