At the weekend, I had a real life Mary Poppins moment and I got to fly a kite for the first time. Okay, so only for 5 minutes and with somebody’s help, but it was still pretty exciting! We went to Royston Kite Festival for the afternoon and saw some very impressive kite displays. It was a beautifully warm, windy day and the sky was alive with flying colours.
Even though my sister’s 24 and I’m 20, we still love having family days out with our parents. This event was great for all ages; a chance for everyone to relax, sit in the sunshine and appreciate the talent of the professional kite flyers. There were a few stalls and food stands there too, so we couldn’t resist getting hotdogs for lunch!
My Dad said something whilst we were there, that really made me think: “this is what life is about: not video games, but sitting outside and enjoying things like this”. I really hope to go to more outdoor events in the future! I live so close to the country, that it’d be crazy not to. It’s a great opportunity to take some time away from a screen and just appreciate the outdoors.
It looks like you had an amazing time! It all looks so beautiful 🙂 I spent last weekend at Magic Kingdom in Disney World and this weekend I'm heading to a friend's house to watch their dogs while they go on holiday…I'll get puppy cuddles and spend some time on my penny skateboard
