Lunchtime Christmas Party*

This year, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Talking Tables on a few blog posts. In September, I decorated my University room with Alice in Wonderland decorations that they’d sent me and in late October, I organised a Halloween Tea Party using some of their spooky tableware and decorations. Now it’s mid December, the festive season and the perfect time to host a Christmas party! Yesterday I did exactly that, showcasing some of their wonderful Winter and Christmas party ranges at a lunchtime Christmas party. We baked Christmas Rice Krispie cakes, Christmas-themed cheese straws and provided our guests with lots of treats.

Mum and I baked the treats on Saturday, whilst listening to the BBC Radio 2 Disney Broadway Hits recording. I set the table on Saturday night, being the organised person that I am. Whenever I’m preparing for events, I like to have everything ready early!

Yesterday, I put on my Christmas jumper, some red lipstick and a fairy lights necklace. My hairdresser came over late morning and she cut my hair before plaiting it back in a different style to normal. With my hair done, I felt ready for the party, so we started getting the last few bits together.

We picked my friend Leanne up from the station at lunchtime, she’d travelled up from London, and as soon as we were back at my house, it was time to take some photos and get ready for the guests!

Everybody arrived at about half 1 and the first thing we did was greet them with drinks in the lovely metallic cups. We all sat at the table, enjoying the snacks, listening to Christmas music and chatting. Of course, the music of choice was Michael BublĂ©’s Christmas album; nothing says Christmas like that album.

We ate Christmas-shaped sandwiches, the cheese straws and some festive nibbles, before having cups of tea and the sweet treats as dessert. It was a lovely afternoon with friends and a great way to kick off the last week before Christmas. The Talking Tables items went down a treat with the guests!

Incase you’re interested in purchasing any of the decorations or tableware, here are the links to the items on the Talking Tables website:
