When we were in Rome, we rented an Airbnb apartment for the 3 nights that we were there. We opted for Airbnb instead of a hostel for this trip and in hindsight I’m so glad that we did, as the apartment was lovely! The apartment was about 15 minutes walk from the Vatican and you could easily get to the city centre in about 20 minutes using the local buses. It wasn’t centrally located, but this was wasn’t an issue for us as it kept the price down.
Our host Michela was fantastic even before we got to the city. She sent me directions of how to get to the apartment via public transport, which were very helpful when it came to navigating the city buses. On arrival, she let us into the apartment block and showed us around the studio that we were renting. It was exactly as it looked in photographs, which was brilliant! There was a bedroom and kitchenette, with a bathroom attached. We even had our own terrace, with a view of the city! If we’d have been staying there in Summer, we’d definitely have made the most of this!
We paid £113 to rent the apartment and it was really good value for money. If you’re considering a trip to Rome soon, I’d definitely recommend Michela’s apartment. You can find the Airbnb listing for the apartment here.
