Why I’d like to visit Polynesia

Since seeing Moana, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack nearly everyday. Stuart spontaneously turned up with ‘The Art of Moana‘ book for me last night and I’ve already started reading about the beautiful landscapes that inspired the film. I’m so fascinated by the islands, the music and the culture and it’s a dream of mine to visit Polynesia one day. For today’s post, I’m going to talk about why I’d like to visit Polynesia.

1. The beautiful island landscapes.

If you google Polynesia, the page of results is filled with pictures of paradise. The blue sea, the vibrant green plants and vegetation and the gorgeous beaches are making me want to jet off to Hawaii or Samoa right now!

2. The tribal culture.

I love how the islanders have managed to keep hold of their culture and heritage in a heavily Westernised world. To meet these people and experience their culture would be such an amazing experience!

3. The flowers.

Polynesian flowers look so colourful and different to anything we have at home. I’d have the best time photographing them!

4. It was the inspiration for Disney’s Moana.

An obvious one, but as the Disney fan that I am, I’d love to visit the place where the film is based on. I’d be lying if I said the Princess and the Frog wasn’t part of the reason why I went to New Orleans in 2015.

5. The food.

So the only experience I have of Polynesian food is the restaurants at Disney’s Polynesian hotel in Florida, but if this is anything to go by, the food is right up my street! Tropical fruits for breakfast would be amazing!
Have you ever been to Polynesia? I’d love to hear about your experiences.
Thanks for reading my blog today.
Love
