Iconic Jewellery Store Kent Bloggers Event

One of the best things about being a blogger, is getting to go to events and meet other like-minded creatives. Living in Canterbury, there aren’t always many events in our neck of the woods, so whenever the opportunity to go to any local events arises, I always jump at the chance. On Friday, I was invited to the “Iconic x Kent Bloggers” event at independent jewellery store Iconic, which is literally footsteps from my flat. The event was a collaboration between Iconic and Siobhan (Just A Uniform) and it involved 2 hours of chatter about jewellery, blogging and life in Canterbury.

The ladies at Iconic taught us so much about their range of products, showed us how to engrave jewellery and even offered us a cleaning service for our own existing jewellery. The engraving process is absolutely fascinating, as it’s linked up to a tablet and you can program the engraving machine to cut your preferred design into a charm. We were gifted a Thomas Sabo bracelet and we each used the machine to engrave a letter or symbol of our choice onto a heart charm. I have lots of “K” items around my flat, so I decided to keep my bracelet symbol and engrave my initial onto the charm.

We also learnt about the Nomination range of bracelets, which I hadn’t heard of before the event. These bracelets are Italian and involve linking up stainless steel individual charms. They can be made as unique and personal as you’d like, as there are such a huge range of charms on offer.

After lots of jewellery natter, photos and boomerangs for Instagram, it was time to head home. Just before we left, we were each given a lovely goody bag and lucky dip prize. Iconic absolutely spoilt us and I now have lots of new beautiful pieces of jewellery to wear as the Christmas party season approaches.

On the way home, I stopped in one of my favourite city centre side streets so that I could take a photo of my new Thomas Sabo bracelet against the city backdrop at night.

It was a fabulous evening and it was so lovely to be able to meet other Kent bloggers. Thank you to Iconic and Siobhan for having me.
